It is a municipality belonging to the province of La Vega, located in the very center of the Cordillera Central, rising on a plateau 525 meters above sea level. Jarabacoa has a rainy tropical climate, attenuated thanks to its altitude of about 500 meters above sea level. Its average annual temperature is around 22 °C (72 °F) and it rains frequently throughout most of the year. The temperatures present little variation, between December and February the early mornings and mornings are cool or slightly cold, the afternoons are mild and the nights pleasant.
Jarabacoa offers its visitors the opportunity to climb to the highest elevation of all the Antilles, El Pico Duarte, a common place of exploration within a national park that gives you direct contact with the most virgin part of nature.
