Domestic and mountain tourism is also one of the main assets of this country. Due to both the topography and the climate of the Dominican Republic, there are incredible hiking and mountaineering trails that allow you to discover other landscapes beyond the beaches. 

Culinary diversity is also one of the hallmark features of the Dominican Republic. Sancocho, mangú, or tostones are just some of the typical dishes of our cuisine, but each region contributes its own recipes, resulting in a wide culinary variety based on the natural products of our land.

Another of the main reasons to live in the Dominican Republic is the real estate market. In many areas of the country, the tap water is not potable and is therefore not suitable for human consumption. Buying bottled water is practically mandatory in most regions of the country. 

The climate is very pleasant in all areas; however, humidity levels are very high, and the rainy seasons are prolonged.   

Driving can be complicated; in some cities, traffic is very intense, and driving is more difficult than in other countries.   

Is it advisable to live in the Dominican Republic?

Yes, in general terms, the advantages of a country like the Dominican Republic far outweigh the disadvantages we may encounter in our day-to-day life. Many people dream of living in a Caribbean country, and the Dominican Republic is the best option due to the conditions offered by both inland regions and coastal cities.
